  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Red chilli powder - 2 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garam masala powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Yogurt - 200 gram
  • Mutton - 1/2 kilo or 500 gram


  • In a pan heat oil - 4 tablespoon
  • Clarified butter - 1 teaspoon
  • When oil gets heated add Cardamom - 3
  • Cloves - 4
  • Cinnamon stick - 2
  • Bay leaves - 2
  • Caraway seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 1/2 teaspoon
  • Green chillies - 5
  • Few coriander and mint leaves.

Preparation of Hyderabadi Mutton Tahari


First of all, take 500 grams of mutton in a pan, clean it thoroughly, with this add 1 tbsp ginger and garlic paste, Use 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder and add 2 tsp red chilli powder and 1 tbsp lemon juice, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 tsp garam masala, 200 gm yogurt.
Now we will mix all the ingredients well with the mutton and store it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes for marinating.


Now we will use 500 grams of any type of rice to make tahari You can do whatever you like, wash the rice well and keep it soaked for 30 minutes.

Now we will heat a pan, add 4 tbsp oil and clarified butter when the oil is completely heated So in that we will put 3 cardamom, 4 clovis, 2 cinnamon sticks, 2 bay leaves and fry for few seconds.


Now we will put those medium size Chopped onions with oil and cook till it becomes golden brown After that we will add 2 tbsp Ginger and Garlic paste, after that we will add 3 medium size Chopped Tomatoes.

And cook for 2 minutes and together you will add salt according to your taste.


Now we will add the marinated mutton and mix it well and cook on medium flame for 15 minutes,

If you want to cook mutton a little faster then you can also use pressure cooker, otherwise you can cook it in the pan itself after giving some time.

Now we can add water according to our requirement. And together with 1/2 tsp of seeds and 1 1/2 tsp of salt, and in the last add 5 green chillies, coriander and mint leaves and mix well.
